TRANSANATOLIA 2015: UN PERCORSO CHE RESTERA' NELLA STORIA
INTERVISTA CON GIULIO FANTONI, DISEGNATORE DEL ROAD BOOK
Giulio Fantoni sta lavorando sul road book della sesta edizione del Transanatolia e l'impegno è
di quelli importanti. Al momento ha disegnato le note del 60 % circa della gara e nella prossima
settimana porterà a termine il tutto anche se già le prime tappe sono in fase di stampa.
Un lavoro enorme che sottolinea come quest'anno il percorso del Transanatolia Rally sarà
diverso da tutti i precedenti. “Il percorso è lungo, oltre 3000 chilometri – testimonia Giulio
Fantoni – e mi hanno detto che si tratta di circa il 20, 30 per cento in più rispetto al passato”.
Per Fantoni si è trattato della prima volta in Turchia e ad accompagnarlo sul percorso durante
le ricognizioni sono stati Orhan Çelen e Burak Büyükpınar che nel corso del viaggio hanno
raccontato al tracciatore italiano le caratteristiche delle precedenti edizioni.
“Gran parte dei trasferimenti che i piloti affronteranno sono in asfalto e la tappa più lunga
sarà la seconda con i suoi 590 km anche se ce ne sono almeno altre due che sfiorano i 500
chilometri. In tutto ci saranno 14 prove speciali con la più corta di 27 km e la più lunga di 193.
I piloti passeranno moltissime ore in moto e per loro sarà davvero un grande allenamento in
previsione degli impegni futuri”. Essendo la sua prima volta in Turchia, Fantoni ha avuto modo
di scoprire il Paese dal suo interno, accompagnato da chi lo conosce bene: “La cosa che più mi
ha colpito è l'atmosfera della Turchia: la gente, i villaggi, le montagne” e cita un esempio : “Ci
sono diverse zone in cui i piloti dovranno sottostare al limite di velocità imposto, da 30 a 50
km orari perchè si attraversano diversi villaggi. Ecco, spero che i piloti abbiano il tempo per
guardarsi intorno per vedere quanto belli sono questi posti e anche le popolazioni che li
abitano. C'è una specie di atmosfera magica”. E le montagne turche, bellissime, hanno lasciato
il segno anche nel cuore di Fantoni: “Tecnicamente il percorso quest'anno sarà davvero molto
bello, probabilmente più lento, con molta navigazione, ma bello. Le montagne della Turchia sono
splendide perchè sono vive, ci sono animali, accampamenti, gente che le vive e le fa pulsare”.
Impossibile non chiedere al disegnatore del road book quali siano le speciali o le tappe per lui
più belle: “Non è facile rispondere però posso dire che il giorno più corto della gara, con i suoi
200 chilometri, che è stato studiato proprio per far riposare un po' i piloti, ha al suo interno
una speciale da 130 chilometri che secondo me è in assoluto la più bella, sotto tutti i punti di
vista, paesaggio compreso”.
I chilometri complessivi di questa sesta edizione del Transanatolia Rally saranno 3170 con
partenza da Ankara il 22 agosto e rientro il 29, sempre ad Ankara. Sette le tappe e 14 le
prove speciali: 1 sola speciale nei giorni 4° e 7°, due nelle tappe 1, 3 e 5 e tre speciali il 2° e 6°
giorno di gara; 1538 i chilometri di trasferimento.

TRANSANATOLIA 2015 . A GREAT TRACK FOR A GREAT EDITION
Ankara, Tuzgölü, Kapadokya, Sivas, Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars, Giresun, Tokat,
Yozgat,Ankara
Anatolian peninsula has been the bridge between Asia and Europe from past to present being
the homeland of many cultures throughout history. Our adventure is now in its sixth year,
with the last three years organized along beauties of Anatolia, and this year, the plan is to
add a whole new dimension with the change of track, advanced technical and security
installations and higher interest of international broadcasting organizations and joining of the
participants of Dakar, the world’s most challenging rally.
6th Transanatolia Rally Raid that will be held from 22 to 29th of August 2015 is the first “rally
raid” of Turkey that lasts for 7 days on a track composed of challenging land, mud and wet stages
with participation of rally motorbikes, land vehicles, ATVs and buggies. With his 3170km
Transanatolia Rally Raid starting at Ankara shall run through Tuz Gölü, Kapadokya, Sivas,
Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars, Giresun, Tokat and Yozgat ending back in Ankara. The longest and
toughest TransAnatolia race course is ready for new adventures. 2015 route has a total distance
of 3170km and it will kick start from Ankara on August 22. The opening stage, Lake Tuz, is 183km
long and it will be followed by a 27km long twisty test close to Cappadocia. Competitors will reach
Cappadocia bivouac after covering 446km in total.
Day 2 of the event offers 3 stages en route to East and a total of 551km. After 2013 it will be
the first day with 3 stages. Second day of Turkey's well-known rally raid offers 255km of
competition before reaching the hotel in Kemaliye.
On day 3 TransAnatolia competitors will be driving and riding through North East to reach
Erzurum which has a significant place in the history of Turkish Republic. During the third day
455km will be covered to reach the hotel. After completing three long days competitors will have
a chance to rest a little on day 4 which is literally the shortest day of the event with 207km . Day
4 offers a 131km long single stage around Sarıkamış and a hotel accommodation. At the end of day
4 the race will reach the Northern and Eastern point of the course.
Day 5 will be the toughest with the longest stages of the whole event when competitors will head
to West on the way back Ankara. First stage of the day is 168km and the the second stage the
longest of TransAnatolia 2015 with a length of 194km. During the fifth day 574km will be covered
to reach the bivouac in Refahiye. Longest day of the event will be day 6 with a total distance of
578km which is a little longer than the previous day.
Day 6 will see three stages like day 2 before ending in Çekerek bivouac. During the final day only
one stage which is 89km long will be passed. And in total 359km will be covered to reach Ankara
for podium ceremonial. Racecourse follows a route through North and East close to the Armenian
and Georgian borders.
